April Updates!
Tomorrow we celebrate Easter. When we’re young we think of Easter eggs and the Easter bunny. As we mature a bit our thoughts turn to spring and the rebirth of nature after a long dreary winter. Our thoughts may also turn to new clothes and/or a new Easter hat/bonnet. While all these things may be harmless enjoyment (if not expensive) they are not the real significance of this season we call Easter. The atonement of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, provides for our mortal and spiritual resurrection. The implication of that momentous event in our lives is the true Easter celebration. Easter finery and Easter bunnies come and go, but this gift of eternal life and universal resurrection for all mankind made possible by His gift of love is of eternal and transcendent importance. No other event in our mortal existence provides more for us in the eternities.
Grandma and Grandpa still enjoy life and family. We wish you the same love and happiness in your respective families as we have had in our fifty-six+ years together.
We hope you all had a great Easter too.
Bear received his Bobcat this last month! He was so excited! Bear and Bug are not too happy about winter coming back! They are now convinced they will “Never be able to go to Idaho!” (Grandma told them they could go to Idaho when the snow melts, but it keeps coming back!) We had a visit with Mr. A today! We took him to visit both our parents. He is doing well and when we have him it doesn’t even seem like he has been gone! (In case you don’t remember, he was our first foster child and is back with his mom now). Bug told his mom that whenever she needs a babysitter we will baby sit! Elf is still just on his hands and knees and rocking and rolling to get to where he wants to go, no official crawling yet! All is well with us!
Dan & Verna:
Dan & Verna visited California over spring break. The girls were farmed out in different directions. It was fun to go. We had lunch with John in Las Vegas where he was working at his T-Mobile "store". We got back and celebrated Easter with Robert's family and Tisha's family. Salomon and his family were there and it was so fun to hold his baby, my grandson. Wonderful Easter! Dan was also set apart on Easter as an Assistant Ward clerk in our ward. Verna in the meantime, is working on family history. It is wonderful.
Robert and Jamie continue to do wonderful. They are saving for Davey's big trip in the fall. Davey will be in Jr. High next year. The oldest 3 in the family are signed up for baseball this summer. It will be a busy summer.
Gary & Bev:
There was a lot of family fun going on in Arizona this month! Riley and Tricia and family visited for 10 days and then Kellen, Camille, and Olivia came to visit for 3 days. There was a little overlap with all the families and it was fun to have everyone together! With all the new babies in the family, 4 within the last year, there was a lot of diaper changing and napping and eating and so forth going on, and inbetween it all we managed to have a lot of fun!
We are in charge of the family party this summer. We have reserved Mueller Park, which is just above Bountiful, for the day on June 28. We hope that everyone can make it. Tricia has placed a poll over to the right hand side trying to get an understanding of how many people we can expect this year. We hope everyone can come, it was a lot of fun last year with everyone there, lets do it again this year!
Dwayne & Patty:
Dwayne and Patty: We moved into our new house Feb. 28. We have been busy with putting new carpet throughout, painted the living room, hall and kitchen. Dwayne and my brother put new tile in our front entry and the entry in from the garage. Just need to finish unpacking. Always a fun job. Over the Easter weekend we went to St. George. We had a great time visiting with Todd and Jade, and mom and dad. We even made a quick trip to Las Vegas with Jade to pick up a washer and dryer that they had bought for their new condo. We also stopped at IN and OUT for a delicious meal.
Ben and Alissa: Ben came into Salt Lake for business for a couple days. We went to dinner at the PIE and had a wonderful time catching up. Alissa loves her new job. Jacob is learning many things at Pre-school and talks often to Grandma Patty and Grandpa Dwayne.
Todd and Jade: Will be moving into a new condo in Bloomington. They are doing some painting before they move in. Jade has a new job at the hospital doing data entry. Todd is busy with school, work, and clinicals.
Steph: Celebrated her birthday March 24. We wish we were closer so we could celebrate her birthday with her. She is staying busy with work, especially with the weather so warm where she is. She has already started going to the beach.
Heather: Finished her externship at the dental office and has moved to St. George. She is living with Todd and Jade and will be working until school starts in the fall. The day after we left her there she came down with the flu.
So now with Heather in St. George Dwayne and Patty are offically empty nesters.

Hopefully my son's and /or their wives will add to this newsletter and tell what is going on in their lives.
In case they don't, One of our grandchildren used the potty all by himself. Hey, don't laugh, this is big news. He isn't old enough to do this yet, Also one of our grandchildren had a big time hair reduction. She looks really cute.We also have a member of our family who will soon be through taking classes and will be a Certified teacher.(way to go Laura.) There is much more to tell if I could only get my offspring to add to this newsletter. Hope to see some of you at the Wedding.
